Welcome to the Chiefs Hockey Club
Hello Chiefs Families,
My name is Mark Soehn and I'm the president of the Chiefs Hockey Club. I wanted to take this opportunity to personally welcome you to the club and let you know how much we are looking forward to another exciting and successful year of hockey. The draft was held this past Monday and team rosters and practice schedules have now been posted to the Chiefs website. (www.chiefshockeyclub.org)
The Chiefs home ice is at the Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, Illinois. The Edge is a premier ice-skating facility and home to the Chicago Steel and Robert Morris Eagles. We are an exceptional house travel hockey program and compete in the Northwest Hockey League (NWHL), playing home games at the Edge and traveling to rinks in the Chicagoland area to play other NWHL clubs. (www.northwesthockeyleague.org)
The Chiefs believe in BALANCED AND EQUAL ICE TIME where everyone plays and has the opportunity to contribute and learn from the hockey experience. Our coaches, who are volunteers, stress team play and we produce several NWHL Champions each season. We provide a quality hockey program that teaches players sportsmanship, team play, and hockey skill development. The Fall season begins in September and runs through March, with breaks at Thanksgiving and Christmas. We usually have two practices during the week and one game on the weekend; however, the schedule varies and does not always follow this structure.
The Chiefs Fall registration provides:
1)40 practices (skill development and instruction)
2)18 NWHL games (9 for Gold Mites)
3)Year-end NWHL tournament
4)Additional tournaments (each team is encouraged to participate in two local or out-of-town tournaments; additional fees apply)
5)Personal trophy and recognition provided at year-end team party
6)Year-end banquet and Chicago Wolves event
7)Subscription to USA Hockey Magazine
8)Chiefs vehicle sticker, helmet logo and jersey # stickers, and NWHL patch
9)Home and away jerseys / socks (not included in registration fee)
Thank you for your participation in the Chiefs Hockey Club and I'm looking forward to another exciting and successful hockey season. Please contact me, via the Chiefs website or at 773.858.1699, if you have any questions, comments or concerns. GO CHIEFS!
